Overall the day went well, we pretty much sold out of our main product (yummy teriyaki chicken skewers) and got some nice comments. No one knew what we were from, but many people asked. We also performed our Fanime Skit (version 1, we're going to fix it up) on the Main Stage and we got a good response. People went sort of wild at one part, which made me happy beyond belief. =D Our casualties were limited this year, no hospital visits! Huzzah! We had a couple of cuts and sunburns and I toasted my hand nicely (don't try to pick up metal things that have fire inside, it's just not smart), but I think we'll all survive.
Anyway, let me post some old stuff first, because I've been meaning to do that.
These are the cool projects I made in Specialty Printing last quarter. That class was a BLAST. I made a Mushishi mug (the bottom didn't transfer well, alas), A Wind Waker glass (the process for printing on the glass was pretty difficult and the image is a bit smudged, but it still looks okay, I guess), and some shirts. I made a Berserk Curse Seal shirt! I actually made a ton of these, I did one on a green where the seal didn't show up and it looks pretty cool. The seal part (the light white) is actually glow-in-the-dark ink, and I was a little sad that you can see it so clearly on the black shirts. The other shirt is a Neuro shirt. The color on these turned out much better than the Berserk shirts... I'm not too sure why. I want to print more shirts~
This is the image that wraps about the mug. I just wanted something cute, so this popped into my head as I was walking one day. I couldn't remember how lots of Mushi looked, so I just made up some among the ones I did remember! XD;;
This is the final stage of making my books for Book Design Technology last quarter. I forgot to take more pictures when it was all painted, but I'll take those when it gets back from Bookbuilders West.
When I finished painting my books, they were really simple-looking. I wanted them to look simple, so this wasn't exactly bad, but I knew a lot of my classmates were doing really neat extravagant things with their books, so I decided to do a little extra bit. This is the bookmark that Yuki included with the book she lent to Kyon. One side has a floral pattern, the other has the logo I made for the book with the iconic red H and (I hadn't done it at the time) the note she writes on it to Kyon.
I made two books, so there are two bookmarks. Both have spring flowers, because I was thinking of what was blooming at home and what I could look forward to seeing there during Spring Break. One has some chive flowers (Yeah, I dunno) and wisteria, and the other has irises, daffodils, and hyacinths.
My sister and I painted easter eggs at home during Spring Break. My break usually doesn't include Easter, so it had been a while since I had the opportunity to decorate eggs. The dye my parents bought was this strange tie-dye stuff, so it was... interesting to work with to say the least. We tried to just paint some of them. This picture has the eggs for our cats Gadget (the far left) and Loki (almost far right), along with the eggs with just our family members' names (it's a tradition) and my Pino egg in the upper right. Drawing with a clear crayon on a white egg is hard. XD
My Loch Ness monster (I made a angler fish one too, because I always draw an angler fish on my scantrons for no real reason, but it was HIDEOUS. Hilariously so. I wonder why I didn't take a picture.) and my Vincent one (LOL LOL LOL). The other egg was one my sister made for her Care Bear Toki. She drew him on the other side and it actually turned really nicely. =3
OKAY NOW TO OPEN HOUSE.
Disclaimer: Although pr0t0manblues was kind enough to remind me many times to work on my Jacuzzi wig, I totally put it off until the night before. But!! I had the right tools to work on a wig this time. Unfortunately, having the tools does not make up for having NO SKILLS. So, my wig is pretty much a dead animal on my head. I'll try to play with it before Fanime, especially since we're having cosplay workshopy things starting in a couple weeks. Also, some of the costumes were not complete for this event because everyone was so busy with all the other prep that went with it. We'll all have complete costumes for Fanime. XD
I wish I had taken more, but there was a lot of running around and work to do, so I took what I could (or asked other people to take pictures for me).
What's this booth I see?
Why it's the (mini) Flying Pussyfoot! And MnA's new booth, designed by our Miria and built by her and many club volunteers (looking good, guys). The train's construction was designed by our Ladd, who decided to drop cosplaying Ladd. =(
Issac and Nick after getting their hair styled.
Issac with his hat. And hey, Nice in the background!
Group shot! Let's see... from the left we have our Dallas, Firo, Claire, Jacuzzi (lol, hair), Nice, Lua, Issac, Miria, a Black Suit, Czes, Chane, Nick, and Maria. We'll have an Ennis, a Maiza (I'm pretty sure), and possibly a Luck at Fanime. Hopefully.
Aaaaannnd another group shot. We also had a Donny (or is it spelled Donnie?), but he came later.
AND NOW IT'S TIME FOR DESTRUCTION
And it all comes apart.
More destruction, from the back. We drew all over the back of the train.
Close up of some of the doodles. We had a little Jacuzzi and Rail Tracer, along with Mushi (I think), Long Cat (portaling, its head is on a different box), a Dragon Ball, a SOS-dan Katamari, some WRRRY, and a couple (more) 4chan things. =D
The boxes used for the base of the train were perfect for sitting in. Too bad the train went no where.
Since it didn't take them anywhere, they took it somewhere. XD
And I'm spent. I don't want to work today, I'm too tired~ *melodramatic flail*
