Baccano episode 4

Today's pages were mainly text, so I finished 10 in about three hours. Freaking awesome.

13 pictures, worksafe but some blood and harsh language. Summary and theories after the pictures. Ladd is really, really scary.

Ladd and his white suits. This episode shows how fucking insane Ladd is. Oh. My. God. So crazy.

This scene was really hard to watch because he spends something like three minutes beating the crap out of this guy. With his fists. Ouch.

Of course, beating a man's face in so much is going to get blood all over the place. No one ever told Ladd that blood is hard to get out of white suits.

Scary little Czeslaw Comrade Chess. You are a freaky, freaky, freaky little kid. I have a theory about him. I'll write about it after the screencaps.

Issac and Miria try on different hats.

This hat was my favorite. He looks so silly in it!!

These two are so very awesome.

Ennis runs over Issac and Miria, then drives off. XD;;

I love this shot of Firo. I think the colors look so awesome.

There have been a severe lack of Jaccuzi (besides his wanted poster which showed up again, woo), but there was a nice two second scene with Nice. ♥

Who is this? What is this? Girl who escaped the dining car? Rail Tracers? YOUNG CONDUCTOR? We'll have to wait and see.

Next Episode:

It's a Jacuzzi episode!! Yay!

Jacuzzi being threatened. D=

Jacuzzi being held at gun point and crying. D=

Things do not look good for Jacuzzi.

This is a best guess, since my Japanese knowledge is next to nothing.

Ladd and his white suits head off to the Flying Pussyfoot after killing two other gang members and toying with the gang boss. Flash forward to the scene in the dining car on the train. Ladd's man gets killed, but not before taking out two of the black-suited men. Ladd comes in and shoots one of the remaining ones and proceeds to beat the other's face into a bloody mess. He sees the senator's wife and daughter and say that he'll be back for them.

Back in the city, Eve is upset because she still doesn't have any information about that jackass Dallas. Bruno and Nicholas discuss Dallas, and Bruno lets something slip and asks Nicholas to forget what he said.

In the hat shop where Firo and Maiza were last episode, Issac and Miria try on all sorts of hats and buy a whole bunch of them, most likely for disguises. They walk onto the street and talk for a while and are run over by Ennis and Szilard (which sounds like a Godzilla-type monster name), who leave them in the street after seeing that they are still alive. Szilard goes to his secret hideout and asks Ennis to go get the old man Firo saved last episode. That brings her to the building which caught fire last episode.

Finally, we see Nice running to try to catch up with Jacuzzi, and some creature with blood-stained hands watches from outside the train.

Not enough Jacuzzi. There was no actual Jacuzzi in this episode at all! But, that cool shot of Firo against the burning building, Ladd's psychotic behavior, and Issac and Miria's stupid conversations made the episode awesome. I'm looking forward to more Jacuzzi loving next ep. I'm trying to get used to calling him "Ja-koo-gee" like they do in the show, not "ja-KOO-zee" like his name is spelled. Kind of like how Nice is "Niece" and not "Nice."

I think Czeslaw Comrade Chess and Maiza are the oldest of the immortals that we have have been introduced too. Maiza looks incredibly similar to the person on the ship in the flashback during the first episode. Comrade Chess is very strange for a young child, and seems to know much, much more than he lets on.

At this point, I don't think Nice, Jacuzzi, Ladd or Lua are immortals. I'm pretty sure Nice and Jacuzzi will be later on because of a scene with other immortals in episode 1, but I have no idea if Ladd and Lua will be. We know from the first episode that Jacuzzi is in pain as he leaves the Flying Pussyfoot. Ladd is missing most of his arm. If they were immortal, Ladd's arm would come back and Jacuzzi would not be in pain (Recall Issac's ear getting cut and him saying, "it hurts!.... no, it doesn't..." from ep one? That's what I'm going off of).

According to a barest-bones summary of the first novel, twenty alchemists asked for immortality from a demon they summoned and gained it. The demon also taught one of them how to brew liquor. I'm curious to see who the brewer is. I'd like to think it is Jacuzzi because of his "I'm not a movie star, I brew liquor, I mean, I'm a delinquent, I mean... I'm just a normal person" statement, but that means that my theory that he is not an immortal would be incorrect. I think his statement was probably just a lame attempt at a cover. It could also be the mouse-smashing man from episode three, because he was protecting those bottles, although my real guess would be that those contained the elixir of life.

Hm. So many questions~!
