HAPPY (late) BIRTHDAY, bluestraggler!!!
We'll totally have to do some ghetto HP cosplay when you get back. I'm looking forward to it.
Oh, my dearest Nat, have some ugly 42 luff. ♥
My desire to create acceptable Oofuri art has driven me to pull out my anatomy book and attempt to properly learn the body's structure. This is my study page for the back of the arm. I'm really tired of drawing the bones for the arm, but I don't quite have them down yet, so I'll need to keep working!
Front of the arm. Practice practice practice. The book I'm using, "Anatomy: A Complete Guide for Artists" is really good and easy to understand. It's also very cheap (about $13 for a large ~230 page book). I'd lend mine out, but I'll be needing it for a while.
My original character, Bouson. There will be a number of pictures of him in this post because I'm trying to work his character out and he's the only character I'm roleplaying with. He's the guardian of the Forbidden Forest in a Harry Potter roleplay, so I wanted to try to portray that here... I figured he would have been, at some time, a respected beast, so they would have made some sort of statue for him. When I first created Bou, it was because I wanted a Fuu-dog character, but I'm not too sure how that fits into the HP world. His usual demon pictures don't look very fuu-ish either...
Bouson again! He's such a dork, I love him. He has serious revenge issues. Also serious trust and general hate issues. He's so into protecting the other creatures of the forest (except the spiders, they don't get along), he usually looks pretty ragged if he's in his human form. Poor boy. ♥
Bouson is obviously my test subject for anatomy practice. He's not too happy about that. I still don't have proportions right, but I'll just have to keep working on it! I really like how his demon form looks on this page... both doodles of it. It's pretty different than my original sketches, but I like how these look a lot more.
Kale with a bird. I drew this while waiting for a panel at AX. I drew a bunch at AX, but this is the only thing vaguely worth sanning. The cat at the bottom is Nik's cat, which we decided represented Turkey (it's a Turkish Van, I think), and represented Turkey's people, so was a gypsy. We were trying to figure out a gypsy-ish name. One of Nik's other cats was deemed Hitler because it very vaguely looked like Hitler. Yeah. We got very little sleep that weekend.
Oofuri junk. It was after this page that I decided I need to learn about anatomy. It was also after this page that I decided Mihashi would be adorable in animal outfits. Especially ferocious animal suits. Like lions. Could you see him try to be ferocious in it? GAH! Adorable!!!!! Most of these are Mihashi (dang his hair is hard!), but the big one is Abe. Looks nothing like him though...
Uwah! The last one! I started watching Ryuusei no Rockman this afternoon and am almost caught up to the subs. It's a really awesome Rockman/Megaman series that isn't about Netto or Rockman from the last 5 or so series. This one is about Hoshikawa Subarau (I LOVE his family name), who encounters War-Rock, a denpa creature. Subaru can use War-Rock's power to Denpa Henka (Change Wave) and become a Denpa Human. Due to a slight misunderstanding, the city's inhabitants know him as Rockman. The character designs for this series are such love! It strongly reminds me of Breath of Fire 5. I'm going to try to ink and finish this picture up on the computer, but I wanted to gush about the series a little bit. I've enjoyed most of the Rockman series that have come out, but this one is looking like it is going to be my favorite!
The last couple days have been... eventful, I guess. I started playing a lot of my unfinished ps2 games and had a good time. I started Odin Sphere and am finding it alright. I don't really like Gwendolyn much, but the game is sooooo pretty, I think I can deal with her. I cut the bottom of my foot on something mysterious yesterday, and after the trouble that happened last time I hurt my foot, I tried to take very good care of it. I washed it out, put Neosporin and a bandaid on it and continuously change the bandage. It looks okay, so I think it will be alright. I tried to find what cut me, but the only thing I could find was a pin and I can't see how such a little pin would make such a big gash in my foot. Oh well. I've told the others to be careful. I think we have carpet sharks.
