Work rush! And the saga of my missing items!

Just got off a crazy work rush a few days ago. Things were really wild for a while… I'm going on vacation next week, so I had something like 5 volumes due before I left… then I got two surprise volumes and deadlines were coming up and i had like six weeks for seven volumes and I was on the edge of some sort of break down and AHHHHHHHH! But things worked out. One of my editors was very strict about me not working during my vacation, so when it looked like she wasn't going to be able to get me two scripts with enough time to get them done, she just told me that she'd get them to me after I got back. The other volumes mostly played nice and I was able to finish all of them last Sunday, giving me… and awful lot of free time. I wish I had known about not getting those two scripts a bit earlier, so I could have spaced my work out a bit more and not skipped out with a couple things with friends, but… hindsight is 20/20 and all that. I made the decision to work on all of those, and I ultimately made the decision to skip those things with my friends, so that's on me.

But this free time! I don't know what to do with myself! I'm so unproductive when I don't have work to do. I've been cleaning the apartment and working on a couple costumes, so that's been nice. I royally messed up some of the fabric I ordered for one of them, so I had to scramble to figure out how to make up for it without ordering more fabric, just to realize that I couldn't get any further on that part of the costume until I finished another part, which I couldn't do until I finished another, and another and… I simply didn't plan it out very well!! But I have over two months to complete that costume, so I'm not too worried!

To be honest, one of the reasons I've been cleaning was to find my DS and my travel journal. I had been looking for my DS for a few months and pretty much given up finding it. Losing the DS wasn't so bad, I could get another, they aren't THAT expensive, but I was really upset about losing all the games in my DS case! But yeah, pretty much gave up on those too. While I started getting stuff together for this vacation and realized my journal was gone too, that's when I really turned on search mode. This journal has been with me on the last few trips and is filled with fun stamps, stickers, and notes of all kinds. It's absolutely irreplaceable. So I searched. And searched. And searched. Yesterday, I finally went through the last of my mystery boxes, and no DS or journal. I was sitting at my desk, staring off into space (which happened to be in the direction of Nur's desk) wondering where the hell they could be. I noticed he had a box next to his desk, right past his chair. "Oh," I thought, "it's his Coffee Break box. I remember when we got those. He bought one and I bought one." And then it hit me. My Coffee Break box! Where was it? I couldn't remember the last time I had seen it!! I ran upstairs and tore through closets and poked in corners. But it was nowhere to be found. Dejected, I sat back at my desk. I looked at Nur's box again. "I'm just going to get myself worked up and then be really disappointed when my stuff isn't in his box, but… it doesn't hurt too much to check," I told myself. So I hopped over there, moved the papers and CDs off it, pried open the lid, and…

It was my stuff. Almost everything I was missing. My DS, my journal, my missing copy of Pokémon White, some CDs, all sorts of things that I had pretty much written off. They were there the entire time, right by Nur's desk. Why was my box in a corner behind his desk? I have no idea. But now I have rescued it and things are good. Honestly, I'm really pretty ticked off that he had my box for some reason, but hey, my stuff is back. Thank goodness. =)

Otherwise, not a lot going on in my life. My little sister returned from a year abroad in the UK on Monday, and it was great to see her. I started playing Persona 4 Arena (I'm pretty terrible at it) and Xenoblade, and I love them both. Good times.

The Bro Calendar has one slot available if anyone still wants to participate! Yes, there are 12 people already signed up, but we need a cover and I have no problems with moving my chosen bros to the cover if no one else wants to. I don't want to push anyone into participating, we don't NEED a cover for the calendar, but if anyone does want to participate still, we do have a slot open. The calendar filled up pretty fast this year, it makes me very happy. =D
