Ups and Downs [14 Dec 2009|08:24pm] [ mood | exhausted ] Welcome, welcome, fangirl_complex! I hope I don't frighten you off! Today has been... not so great. I finished the first chunk of that rush volume, but Photoshop decided it was really tired so things took longer that I had hoped. Still, getting that done was good. I also got the next part of the script and there are a number of easy pages, so that's nice. The thing that really set me off was a trip to the mall with my mother and sister. Long story short, she's annoyed that I occasionally text people and that people occasionally text me. *sigh* Oh well. BUT! My Jolteon canvas plush came in! He's adorable! His name is Voltaire. And and and I ordered a new hard drive. I'll have to partition it, so I'm thinking of naming the partitions Dresden and Mister... or maybe The Doctor and... I dunno... The Master or something. It'll probably be something TV-related because it'll be another TV/Movie drive. I'm really excited to get this new drive in, but I don't know why. Holidays are busy busy times! [10 Dec 2009|09:03pm] [ mood | complacent ] Work has been keeping me very, very busy lately. I took on a rush volume earlier this week, so I've been cleaning pages all day long. I finished the second volume of Crown of Love this morning, so that's a weight off my mind. Now I just have this rush volume, half a volume of UM, and probably a volume of Hyde due in January. I think I can handle it without too much problem, but with a costume to still START making for ALA (speaking of which, does anyone have space for Nur and I in their hotel room?), holidays, and relatives coming, time is looking very tight! Yikes! I've been sort of on-edge lately because of these things, so I'm sorry if I snap at you online or anything. I really don't mean to! I'll be sending out holiday cards shortly, so if you'd like one, please leave your name and address on this post! Oh, in fun news! To combat the stress, I've been throwing my mind more and more into fandom stuff. I needed a break this afternoon, so I was going to work on my Time Lord/Symbol of Rassilon sweatshirt, but I didn't have the energy to cut out the Symbol of Rassilon yet, so I just used the opposite part of the stencil I used for my Tardis sweatshirt and just had some fun with it. It was a great stress reliever! I really love making these sweatshirts, they're as much fun to make and wear as the Pokémon ones I made, but a lot easier! After I finish this one, I might make an "Empty Child" one and a UNIT one, but I think then I'll try some other fandomish shirts. We'll see. =D Beckon?

I was happy because spring=things blooming and yay pretty and also NEW DETECTIVE CONAN MOVIE. I was SUPER excited, because my long years in the community and keen knowledge of movie planning (aka I thought it was about time and I really really wanted it) told me it was going to be a movie with KID. Well. It IS a movie with KID. But it comes out after we leave. BAWWWWWWWWWW (I mean really? Like every other Conan movie comes out EARLY April. This one has to come out late-mid April? Doctor Who Season 3 WOOOO [03 Dec 2009|01:34pm] [ mood | excited ] So I finished watching season 3 of Doctor Who. Well, season 3 of the new Doctor Who. I haven't watched any of old Who yet. Anyway. I was a little nervous coming into this season, because I had heard lots of comments about Martha being annoying and useless and the such. WHAT THE HELL PEOPLE??? Martha was SUCH a badass. I thought she was a magnificent companion! Lots of sad stuff this season... lots of sniffled back tears on my part. And tons of flailing. Tons and tons and tons. And Jack coming back! Oh, he's still such a slut. =) And Blink!!! I knew just about everything about the episode and the Weeping Angels and everything and I thought everything I had heard was really dumb. I mean, freaking angels with scary faces, not really scary. Well... then I actually watched the episode and @*%YQHQAFSV@*%^Q(*TY I DON'T THINK I'VE WATCHED ANYTHING SO SCARY. D= I had to get Spotty, my snow leopard that always protects me (remember the Cricket Man?) for comfort half way through, but I still was sobbing with fear. DAMN YOU, WEEPING ANGELS! I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO SEE AN ANGEL THE SAME WAY AGAIN. Season four is downloading now! I really liked Donna in the last X-mas special (she's so spunky!), so I'm looking forward to seeing her again. =D In related news, the DVDs for the first two seasons shipped the other day and should be here early next week. I bought a hooded sweatshirt at Target for $9 (yay sale) and some contact paper, used the screenprinting ink Nur and I bought last year, and printed out the designs I wanted to use. [24 Nov 2009|09:20pm] [ mood | amused ] Nur asked me to see if I could find where the Filthy Man, a vendor in the 2-2 world of Demon's Souls is supposed to be, so I type "filthy man" up in the searchbar and the drop down suggestions give me "filthy man 2-2," "filthy man demon's souls," "filthy man 2-2 demon's souls," "filthy man 2-2 vendor," and "where is filthy man 2-2." All Demon's Souls results. Whoa. Also why does the one of the sluttiest characters in Doctor Who have to share my name? FREAKING SUCK. At least it's spelled differently. Finished up season 2 today, cried my eyes out. Loved the Christmas special, Donna kicks serious ass. DOCTAH WHOOOOO [19 Nov 2009|10:30am] [ mood | chipper ] So, after many years of hearing about it, I finally decided to start watching Doctor Who. For some reason, I always thought it was a drama, but the series is so funny! I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. I started with the Ninth Doctor and absolutely adored him. Then when the Tenth Doctor came about, I wasn't too sure... until he started quoting The Lion King. Now It's love. ♥ Both Doctors are fantastic and I'm having a blast watching this series! MUSASHI!! But no Gun-Doh. [14 Nov 2009|11:11pm] [ mood | determined ] Just got back from a showing of Musashi: The Dream of the Last Samurai in San Francisco. The movie was incredibly fascinating, but definitely not what I was expecting. It was a very interesting history lesson, not so much an action movie. I enjoyed it, but I enjoyed Sword of the Stranger more. Oh well. I did run into Andrew and two other Viz employees (whose names I forgot, sorry!!) in line! That was fun. =) I guess some stories say that Musashi liked to use a long, fat bokutou with long nails in the end of it? It's like... a nail bat. Musashi (might have) used a NAIL BAT. SO COOL. Just a wee bit so [12 Nov 2009|04:13pm] [ mood | intimidated ] I'm house-sitting at the parents' place today. They are getting their carpet pulled out and hardwood floors put in, so I had to let the crew in this morning. I don't mind house-sitting. It provides a nice change of scenery. HOWEVER! The crew is Russian. Normally, I wouldn't care, but today just happens to be the day that all the shows I watch are about the Russian mafia and half of the music I downloaded was Russian. It's just... a little strange. And uncomfortable. I'm in my old room with the door closed, but still... I'm afraid I'm being rude or something. =\ p.s. mac taylor is so awesome omg omg omg (but not as awesome as charlie crews, of course) EDIT: So suddenly I realized why one of the guys sounded so familiar... he sounds just like Roman Nevikov from Life! Which is actually super creepy and this voice in the back of my head started nervously whispering for me to call the cops on Roman and another voice started telling me to just lay low because if he found out I was calling the cops he'd kill me and my family and YET ANOTHER voice started back handing the other voices and said that Roman is a fictional character. Which is true of course, but it doesn't stop me from being utterly terrified of the guy. After my parents came home and the Russians left, I found out that they were not Russian at all. They are Polish. I find myself strangely disappointed by this. 5 Dark Passengers|Beckon?
