DOCTAH WHOOOOO [19 Nov 2009|10:30am] [ mood | chipper ] So, after many years of hearing about it, I finally decided to start watching Doctor Who. For some reason, I always thought it was a drama, but the series is so funny! I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. I started with the Ninth Doctor and absolutely adored him. Then when the Tenth Doctor came about, I wasn't too sure... until he started quoting The Lion King. Now It's love. ♥ Both Doctors are fantastic and I'm having a blast watching this series! I'm not very far yet, just watched the 2005-2006 Christmas Invasion episode, but I'm excited to see more. =) P.S. Jack is such a slut 6 Dark Passengers|Beckon?

NaNoWriMOMOMOMO [16 Nov 2009|09:24pm] [ mood | weird ] Well, it's over half way through the month and I am nowhere near half way done with my comic! I have about 16 pages done (pencilled and messy, but they'll likely never get any more done) and 39 pages storyboarded. I'm a lot more excited to draw these later pages, so hopefully I'll be able to get this thing drawn by the end of the month. I don't have text on any pages, but I'm going to allow myself to put it on after the month is over. Maybe I'll post some character doodles later... MUSASHI!! But no Gun-Doh. [14 Nov 2009|11:11pm] [ mood | determined ] Just got back from a showing of Musashi: The Dream of the Last Samurai in San Francisco. The movie was incredibly fascinating, but definitely not what I was expecting. It was a very interesting history lesson, not so much an action movie. I enjoyed it, but I enjoyed Sword of the Stranger more. Oh well. I did run into Andrew and two other Viz employees (whose names I forgot, sorry!!) in line! That was fun. =) I guess some stories say that Musashi liked to use a long, fat bokutou with long nails in the end of it? It's like... a nail bat. Musashi (might have) used a NAIL BAT. SO COOL. Just a wee bit so [12 Nov 2009|04:13pm] [ mood | intimidated ] I'm house-sitting at the parents' place today. They are getting their carpet pulled out and hardwood floors put in, so I had to let the crew in this morning. I don't mind house-sitting. It provides a nice change of scenery. HOWEVER! The crew is Russian. Normally, I wouldn't care, but today just happens to be the day that all the shows I watch are about the Russian mafia and half of the music I downloaded was Russian. It's just... a little strange. And uncomfortable. I'm in my old room with the door closed, but still... I'm afraid I'm being rude or something. =\ p.s. mac taylor is so awesome omg omg omg (but not as awesome as charlie crews, of course) EDIT: So suddenly I realized why one of the guys sounded so familiar... he sounds just like Roman Nevikov from Life! Which is actually super creepy and this voice in the back of my head started nervously whispering for me to call the cops on Roman and another voice started telling me to just lay low because if he found out I was calling the cops he'd kill me and my family and YET ANOTHER voice started back handing the other voices and said that Roman is a fictional character. Which is true of course, but it doesn't stop me from being utterly terrified of the guy. After my parents came home and the Russians left, I found out that they were not Russian at all. They are Polish. I find myself strangely disappointed by this. 5 Dark Passengers|Beckon?

Con talk (catchin' up), NaNoWriMo [09 Nov 2009|07:36am] [ mood | content ] So last weekend was Yaoi Con. Nur and I only ended up going for Friday night through Saturday morning. We stayed with the amazing pacificpikachu and her friends. We decided to only get a Saturday badge, so after arriving and unloading, we went out for Taco Bell and watched The Fugitive. I had never seen it before. It was pretty awesome. =D I hadn't been sleeping well, so I pretty much passed out after the movie. Someone decided to SAW WOOD in the middle of the night. I kid you not. I woke up earlier than everyone else on Saturday, so I went out into the hallway to watch the latest episode of the Mentalist. As luck would have it, astrokittie saw me and I hung out in her room with joeshadows and xel_ko for a bit. Good times. They heard the wood sawing too, so I know I wasn't crazy! Nur woke up and helped me get into my costume. I was cosplaying adult Zakuro from Kurozakuro. I had two wigs... one for his antler version, and one for regular version. Antler version ended up completely not working (alas), but the other version worked alright. Nur drew on my markings and tried to put tooth wax on (didn't really work for reasons we cannot explain), then we dressed up Cubby and headed out to take some pictures. Nur has this magical camera that takes magical pictures. I was really happy with how a lot of the ones he took turned out!! He did a shoot with me, then a shoot with Cubby, who was dressed in the Lickitung costume Nur made for him. Cubby says, "Best costume EVER. Best Pokémon EVER." Then we headed into the dealers room and bought a bunch of doujin. I wasn't really interested in any of the panels, so we went back to the room, chatted with people, and watched NCIS. We left at 4-ish after saying hi to the Minna crowd. On the way back, we went to every Toys-R-Us we passed by. I wanted the new Jolteon toy, but had no luck. Nur was able to get toys of all the Regis though! I picked up an Orgin Forme Giratina and one of the new 5Ds tins (even though it didn't have Yuusei on it) because it was on sale and I love me my tins. The Minna no Anime Halloween Party was this weekend. I had a fantastic time! Everything I participated in was tons of fun. AND THERE WAS A BREAD BAKING CONTEST. I didn't participate, but oh god the entries were SO GOOD. It's so nice to go to these parties now and not be in charge. It's so relaxing. I cosplayed as Apollo from Sousei no Aquarion. I tried to be in character, but I could never stay that way for very long! We stayed at Nik's place and hanging out with him is always fun. On Sunday we had lunch with a huge group of awesome Minna people. Oh, I miss being able to hang out with people all the time. T^T OH OH OH And kithkanan gave me the Keaton Zoology book with is AMAZING AND KEATON AND FULL COLOR OMG. Thank-you thank-you thank-you~!!!!♥ I'll be spamming later with pictures from the photoshoots Nur did for me. So so so it's November, and with everyone's help I have chosen a comic to work on. It's so late in the month, and I only have two pages done. HAHAHAHAHWHOOPS. I didn't want to rush anything while I was trying to get ready for the Minna party and making sure work was getting done. Now I can try to catch up. I have the next 17 or so pages storyboarded, so it shouldn't be soooo bad to get going on this. WE SHALL SEE! XD Beckon?

Busy Times [04 Nov 2009|08:33pm] [ mood | exhausted ] Things have been busy in all sorts of ways! Work has actually been pretty light recently, but I've been trying to catch up with some other stuff! This weekend is the Minna no Anime Halloween party, so I've been trying to get my costume done for that. I've also been updating the master karaoke list, which is taking a lot longer than I thought it would. The collection has tripled since last year! I'm almost done with the "P" section. I hope I can finish tomorrow. Uhhhh.... I don't think I mentioned it earlier, but a couple weeks ago I got a big Palkia plush in the mail. His name is Atlus and he's really shy. A couple days ago I got a Groudon plush I had ordered. His name is Apollo. I actually have photo stories for both of them Oh!! And also my third new Pokémon plush, Mackenzie. I have a lot of photostories to post, but they'll have to wait until at least after this weekend! I'll talk about Y-Con after this weekend! Demon's Soulsssssssssss [24 Oct 2009|09:16pm] [ mood | annoyed ] I was going to take the day off, THE WHOLE DAY, until guilt got a hold of me. Then I got an email asking me to do some corrections by Monday, and then... well, my afternoon was pretty full. Cosplay stuffs are coming along nicely. I have a lot of little things left on my Y-con one, but it should be too hard to finish it in time. My MnA one... well, I have most of the pieces for it, I just need to put them together. Still, shouldn't be too hard. Watched the 13th Detective Conan movie, The Raven Chaser, last night. It was pretty good, but I don't think it was as nearly as good as any of the movies in the "golden streak" (in my opinion) of movies 8, 9, and 10. Oh, they were fantastic. Anyway. Nur's been playing Demon's Souls. Damn, that game is hard. He hasn't done much outside of the Boletarian Palace yet, but he just got this Spiked Shield that hurts his enemies quite a bit. It's great! For some enemies, he just butts up against them with his shield and BAM! They're goners! I want him to fight dragons, but they seem pretty hard right now. Hopefully soon though! Hahahaha, he just found out that if you don't have a weapon equipped, you can punch people. If you hold the button, it turns it into an uppercut! He's spent some time in the Valley of Defilement, and hopefully soon he'll go to the Stonefang Tunnels. But for now, it's mainly the Palace. The game is pretty awesome though... all sorts of weapons and such to use and a world that is pretty open for exploration. There's really a lot of freedom in it. 2 Dark Passengers|Beckon?

ROI IS COMING SOONISH probably [16 Oct 2009|09:32pm] [ mood | lethargic ] I've been working on the Roi vs Volkner comic! I meant for it to be four pages, but it looks like it'll be seven or eight. I really love drawing Roi! It's almost a shame that the comic pretty much just focuses on his Pokémon. When I scan the comic in, I'll have a bunch of other random doodles too. Ooooh boy! =D Mostly random Roi stuff though. I'll have another Pokémon photostory soon as well. I got in a new team member, but I might wait until the last one in the mail arrives. Oh, the hard decisions in life! I'm finally getting someplace with one of my cosplays! My Zakuro coat actually has form now, I just need to hem the bottom and put the collar on. Of course, the collar is the most complicated part! Still, it's getting there! Nur and I just finished watching Sasuke 23. I love watching it, and I absolutely adore the fact that it IS a competition, but against the course and yourself, not against each other. So everyone cheers for everyone else. I love that.
